I am going to keep my car and build a new NA set up for it. It is going to be a sleeved B18C block with 85mm JE pistons (4.5cc dome) and a B16 head (44cc combustion chambers) with stock size re-contoured valves, Skunk st3 cams, Crower valvetrain, 51mm ITB's and a big 4-1 header.
The transmission is a stock cable B16 with LSD and I will be running 205/50/15 tires.

Now to the options-

1. use a stock GSR crank and GSR rods w/ARP bolts
the good- cheap since I have them already, stronger of the OEM Bseries options, smaller displacement will keep the tires from spinning
the bad- smaller displacement will keep the tires from spinning, rev limited by the stock rods

2. use an LS crank and eagle rods
the good- I have the crank and 3 of the rods, a little more displacement and compression than above
the bad- same set up already gave up on me once

3. GSR crank and aftermarket rods
the good- as with number 1 with the benefit of the wider GSR bearings and more rev capability with good rods
the bad- still not a 'big' motor, good rods cost a fair penny

4. 95mm aftermarket crank and Eagle rods
the good- 2.2L, lots of compression and I have the rods already
the bad- cranks aren't cheap and it barely got traction with 2L, also rev limited with the short rods.

Feel free to add any other options or opinions.

for n/a use some aftermarket A or I beam rods, check the weights. Eagle H beams are too heavy, good for turbos. Otherwise stick to a reworked stock rod.

If I use the GSR crank and AM rods I'll get Carillos. If I get a 95mm crank I'll probably try a Scat as Eagle stuff has not been treating me well and the Crower is too expensive.

Crower's price are insane..that's 3 level up expensive.

The 95mm crank sounds good and the stg3 cams will like high compression and a lot of dwell. You'd better have a good rod because your piston speeds will be up with that configuration. I would opt for getting the skirts coated as well since the short rods will give a lot of side loading. You'd better have a good valve train with those cams - they're not as bad as a toda B or C but not that far off. Porting on the head would be a really good idea since it won't like lots of displacement with a high RPM cam. I'd suggest looking at how endyne does his porting and copy that - there are lots of photos and I think head work may make or break a project like this.

Compression will be in the 13.5-1 range with the 95mm crank the rods would be the Eagles that I already have. I would probably keep the rev limit in the 8500 range with this set up.

Valvetrain and cams have already proven themselves to me so that's not a concern.

The head is already ported, no real corrected flow numbers just done so they all flow pretty much the same. Working on a deal to get some real numbers and more work done if needed.

I think I am leaning to the GSR crank and Carillo rods, should produce a nice wide powerband and be more durable than the other set ups.

Found some weights/price for comparison using the GSR length

Stock-can't find, need to weigh it myself/free
Eagle- 535g/$320
Crower econo- 470g/$390
Carillo- 411g/$700
