Project 240sx/Silvia

So I just picked up a 240sx and thought I would let you guys get a sneek peek at the car. I am quite happy with the purchase but the seller was a bit high in price but i wanted this car from the first time i saw it! I had got down here in BC late summer of 07' and saw this car about a month from when I got here At first I saw the rear end and was like nice a 240 but then when I drove by I noticed it wasnt a 240 front end and saw the silvia head lights. I almost creamed myself! So I waited and waited and it kept sitting in the same spot and finally the other day I went and left my number on the car window and he called me the next day! Then sealed the deal! So Here it is ..a few pre-pics but I'll have some of interior and close ups but this is all I have for now! I wouldnt mind a bit of input as to what to do with the car..the body is in good shape so Its looking at paint mabey a clean body kit? I have 17's 5 spoke with a 2 inch lip but dont know if I'll use them? So anyhow..here it is

I'll get specs later But it does have:
Jdm Rear End (drivetrain, Lsd)
Tanabe Sustec Pro ss full-Coils
Greddy 2.5" Exhaust (not Installed,Brand New)
Silvia Front end Conversion
Replaced Brand new Oem:
-Injectors
-Plugs
-Plug Wires
-All filters
-and the top end was rebuilt with all new gaskets and the normal clean up.
I get A full set the 15" meshies and a set of the 15" 7 spoke nissan stocks! All of them with 512's but 2 need to be replaced.
And best of all a nice clean stock Interior!

Ya its gonna be awsome man. Cant wait to get it down mabey this summer..but most likly next! You'll take'er for a rip! Well The price he came out with was 4500$ but I got him down to 3800! Which I dont know if thats an awsome deal..but I think its not too too bad considering we are in northern BC were any import is very scarce and the car has a flippin silvia front end...my dream car! :lol:

lol I dont know about that..I'll just stick with the stock 4banger we'll see about the VQ in a few years! I'm just gonna focus on apperance and main upgrades as I dont have a nice garage down here to work in! But when it goes home to meet its family in ONT it will get a nice teardown. And we'll see where she goes from there! and yep the grills stayin but I might get the black filler piece..like the piece that is one solid rectangle! but I dont no I really like it the way it is!

Yah there are few few similar ideas..my goal is the sr20..thats what is in my head right now but..you know how swaps go...mabey I'll find a sweet deal on something like an rb25 or along the lines but I have a goal and thats what im going for! so Ya here some shots of the bay and int. And updated the parts..that came with the car! I will be working on getting a turbo kit for the ka thats in it and when i pull it out next year I will just sell the kit seperate from the motor or a package deal! So if you guys got enything laying around..lmk!

ya man it runs like a top..started up first rotation and it wasnt started in like 4 months..and ran awsome not a tick or sad idol ..nothin just ran great..I'm very happy with the buy!

have you checked the frame rails? Where the exhaust manifold goes down, it usually turns into swiss cheese.

89si, I just noticed something in your pics - under the hood, is that a big red power line running to the back of the car, for a sys-daaamn perhaps? Anyway, do you see in that pic it's up against the wheel well, and it's touching a grounding lug? You might want to see if it has been chaffing (if that's how you say it) - if it has been rubbing against that ground lug. That would not be good if it were to wear through :S

naww...i like the silvia's dont get me wrong but im not a big fan on the body line and the rear end! i loveee the front end though..oooohhh creammm! an there like 2-3 grand more then a 240 goes for lol and i like the 240 rear ends yep! but ya ill get a few fun little drifting videos on here to show how shes slides...havent been out much...working 7days12hours..sometimes 14hrs so not much time to play but im onna take the day off here in a bit and have some fun! cant wait to start work on it!

and ya this is allready lhd..so i dont have to pay 2-3g's more for the silvia, pay another 1-2g's for a lhd clip and much more time..yep..im good!

silvia's are pretty sweet though!

Looks like a nice project! Sileighty's FTW! pm me if you're serious about parts ect... I have a buddy who's looking to upgrade from his 240 to something a little bit more "bling". I'm not sure what he's selling but i know he's got an SR20DET that needs a bit of work or he has a perfectly good and well maintained CA18DET pushing 15lbs and almost 300hp. He knows these cars inside and out.

edit: keep your eye open for 300ZX brakes. Theyre usually cheap and very strong and they'll bolt right on to the 240... i think a lot of people do the 5 lug conversion from a 300 as well.

Guy I bought it off of talks to me a couple days ago and say oh I forgot to tell you..when the front clip was put on so was the jdm rear end!! badadbing..LSD posi...so that was some nice news! tis true took her out laid rubber and sure enough. :lol:

Picked up a sbc from a buddie..atta boi dill.. heads on the way! So I threw it in just for the shit of it! But I'm looking at a few sr20's bu t I have a lead on a local sr..so we'll see if that pans out and if not Ill have to get one shipped! But body work has been started..and trying to find time to get er'done but shit its hard to get time...I hve the day off today and Im getting some welding done...will have some pics up in a few days ..and getting some running around done so its gonna be a tight day..But here are a few progress pics!

I have to glove box out right now getting black leather instead of that nasty cloth crap..ewwww! and we'll see how that turns out and if its all good I will start the doors and mabey back seat but I dont know if I will be keeping the back seat!!

So I met up with a dude in town who has a 240 too..but his is the silvia rear and pignose up front..he wants my front end but ...ufck that isht! dont have alot of time to work on the car but I had a bit of today to get the fenders blocked down, so the dents are fixed and there in the last coat of primer before and good finish and paint! Oh and I picked up 6.5"!

well guys I just wrote a big long post and was almost done then my son hti a damb button and erased it all so I'm gonna cut it short! Havent had much time to get much done but heres what I got done...

sueded the door panels, glove box, middle harm rest..all turned out great and am very happy with the interior..also dyed the carpet and the back seats in black!!!

heres a few pics and ill get a better update soon enough..havent had any time to get the rest of the body work done but im looking at getting it done though a buddie...while im working! none of the shops around my area will take me..they only do new cars or trucks..but more so trucks because of the oil field! so no go with any autobody shop but I'll see what i can pull off!

thanks guys..i am just visiting my home town in ontario now but while im not working on my 240 at home in BC I am swaping out a few hondas and gettin a b18 back into my civic ready for boost...I choose To work on cars on my vacation...the love eh!!

cars looking good man, ive actually been working on my buddies 240 here in town for the past 3 weeks, he also has a sylvia front end on it, and put the black top sr20 in it, he had me put water,exh temp, fuel press, boost guages in it(all defi guages), also a wideband(just instaled it, did not tune obviously, haa)greddy turbo timer and exectronic boost controller and to top it all off a full 3" trust exhaust system annnnd tein coil overs. you have to see this car man, you would love it. you must come visit!

Hey gaen you gotta bet me some pics of this beast! Ya The engines gettin pulled now and its goin in the basement to get rebuilt top to bottom! Seals, gaskets, bearings and rings! Shes gettin tanked and doing a wire tuck and cleaning up the bay! No spray cans here lol top notch!

So I started today but because its a new car and I was blazed! I was on an off and comming up with new ideas as I went! but everything is ready to be lifted out! just need to go pick up the lift from my buddies!

looks good, you dont see too many hatches with the silvia front end around. if i read correctly, your rebuilding the stock KA? if so any plans for boost? alot of people rag on the KA, but the fastest drag 240s rely on them. bump for a fellow s13!

thanks man, ya alot of ppl look down on the ka's but it doesn't bother me any! ya maybe the Sr's are a bit lighter and they come stock boosted but that's kinda like buying a car that is already done up! what the hells the fun in that? nope I am sticking with a semi-built ka! Originally all the motor needed was a front main seal! as you can see all the sludge covering the motor lol! and I was planning to boost it anyway so I said ufck it an just build it! I mean these Ka's are good up to 500whp but the main problems are in the rods! so I hear, as that is say I am rebuilding the motor top to bottom!

Block will get:
Tanked and Honed
Full Gasket/Seal Kit
Acl Race bearings
Either JP or Eagle Piston/Rod/Ring Set (not decided on Spec yet?)
Cometic Head gasket
Fidanza Aluminum Flywheel
Full Front Pulley Kit

I am thinking of getting the crank knife edged, Balanced and Blueprinted (we'll see)

Head Work:
Tanked but keeping Stock valves, springs and retainers for now!
All Gaskets and Seals..Comes with full kit as stated
Port and Polish and Matching Head, Intake and exhaust Mani Ports
Maybe a 3angle Valve Job

Electrical EMS:
I have a Apexi AVC-R Boost Controller
May pick-up a S-AFR but not necessary

Turbo Kit:
Unsure But will be piecing it together..not buying as a whole kit from a Site and whatnot!
First things first build the motor and at the same time Build up the kit!


On this setup I am aiming for the 250whp to 300whp for a not quite DD just in the summers! and a bit of track! :devil:
