View Full Version : Anyone listening to CFRA?...Drivers under 25yrs are BAD.
Earlier, Lowell and his jowells was discussing the possibility of needing to have a priveledged driving permit, and wait untill the age of 25.
Being that a recent RAND statistical report surveyed that:
13% of the drivers on the road nowedays are under the age of 25yrs.
however.
43% of the accidents are CAUSED...not "involved" but caused by drivers under the age of 25.
13% are under 25.
43% are the cause of accidents.
thats a bad ratio....
sollutions?

There's always some source of error with statistics. You have no idea what his source is and so on. The fact that he uses percentages can be very misleading. That's a start. In any case, the demographics of the accidents I've seen vary quite a bit. You regularly read up on the mother that caused a death on some rural highway, the teen who had a drunk driving accident, then the cabbie who had cuffs thrown on him and the list goes on.
His idea of implementing a system of a G1 for <25 is also stupid. Explain why Germany has such a successful driving system compared to us.

also it's possible the drivers under 25 tend to drive a lot more than older people.

that means that 57% of accidents were caused by people over 25. fuck maybe they should stop allowing people over 25 to drive at all...

Is this for Ontario?
Is Alberta still handing out the learners at 14?

Because they actually teach people to drive. Not read a book and do a couple of hours sitting in a backseat of the school driver ed car.

It should be bumped from 16 to 18 for the learners permit.
If you can't drink or vote, you certainly shouldn't be behind the wheel of a car.

So if we go by what you say.
If you can drink, you should be able to drive :P

I don't believe that statistic at all... I bet alot of the accidents that are caused by people that are under the age of 25 are actually reported tot he police because they don't know how much the system is going ot fuck them. Most people over hte age of 25 know better then to claim it through there insurance. Just think about that.

he is an idiot, too much shit comes out of his mouth.

Im 21 and have been driving since 16. Been under my own insurance since 18... i dont even have a speeding ticket under my name as of it.
Yeah there are stupid drivers out there... but it goes on both side of the over 25/under 25 spectrum.

Peeps under 25 are craving for speed... ( Hormones )
- But does not make them a bad ass driver...
People over 65 Are Very Bad drivers.... Due to poor senses...
And they cannot react early ... Plus they drive slow as hell... and taking both lanes...

No, it's the truth that no one in this left wing, socialist society has the balls to say. It's quite refreshing actually. He tells it like it is, and good for him.

Truth is kids, is that younger drivers cause more accidents.
It's undisputable.

Even though I'm 17; I agree with it. Yeah every other age catergory crashes; but the most of them happen with the kids.
Hell; theres about 10~ people from my school last year that crashed their cars after getting their licenses. It's a pretty known fact that when most people (mostly guys) get their licenses they drive around like maniacs. If you honestly say you never had that feeling; something is wrong with you.
As you get older you realize it's not worth it; especially around people. If you want to go fast; do it somewhere where the only person you'll hurt is yourself and your ego. No one gives a shit about your Cavalier, Civic, or V6 Firebirds and Camaros

Both accidents I've been involved in were:
A) I was 19 with one, and 22 with the other
B) Both cases a female under the age of 25 were at fault for the accident. (One was drunk, the other cut me off and left the scene of the accident, she had something like 8 charges that her lawyer was fighting, including the charge from my accident  )
Even though I'm 17...
well said comming from a 17 year old. you must be maturing quickly or is just completly bullshiting to try and make friends on RL.

No man I don't bullshit.
I realize beating on any car or acting like an idiot doesn't really get you anywhere. It pisses me off watching other people do it so I can't be hypocritical and do it myself. It just endangers everyone around you and really it's not fair to everyone.
If I ever feel like doing shit; I don't feel comfortable doing it 1) around other cars 2) with anyone else in the car because if I fuck something up I'd rather it be just myself; but I used to do that when I got my G2 a year ago. A few months later and you realize it's a responsibility not a right to have a license and smartened the hell up. It's now speed limit...cruise control for me
