I stopped in at CT on Marivale today becasue 1 of my tires wasn't balanced and the other had a slow leak. It takes them 2 hours to accomplish these 2 tasks and I get charged 60 bucks. That sorta job should only take 20mins.
Apparently the tires on my 18" rims come off of the back of the rim instead of the front, so this cost me an extra 40 bucks on top of the balancing.

Who else on redliners has gotten bent over by Canadian tire?

don't even get me started on CT. I spent hours and hours for 2 days straight arguing with them over bad tires. They claimed my car was out of alignment and wouldn't change their mind. But really the tire belt had shifted. After getting another garage involved, CT checked my alignment and everything was fine. They finally pro-rated the tires and gave me new ones.
I will never go back.
Oh and during all this the guy at the counter actually said "I don't care about your car, I have my own bills to pay you know"

here's a good one, i'll sum it up so i don't go ballistic;

- blew a tire on the way home from work in the winter time, happened to be 5 minutes from a CT.

- I wan't that happy with said tires so gave them the OK to replace all four (they actually had the size and brand I wanted in stock).

- Friend meets me and we go for some grub while the change my tires... Pull in the parking lot after grub right when they're backing my car out.

- I asked my friend to just sit and watch them for a couple minutes. Now I understand that these dudes drive minivans all day and having a AWD boosted car when it's ice raining (yes it was a nasty day) is a bad combo.

- Tech pull around behind the building. We can't see the car but can hear it

- spooooooooooool, vrroooooooooooom... Then the car comes flying from around the corner sideways in a 4-wheel drift. Awesome.

- Andre freaks out, gets break on tire prices.

- Andre leaves the CT parking lot in a four wheel drift of fury being watched the the manager who just gave me a break on prices because of "abuse"

hehe

Yes Tyler is a member of this forum, GIVR is his nickname I think. I've known him since college and I was waiting a year and a half for him to sell this car to me!

Balance 18" with hidden sticky weights- $10
Repair tire, remove off of wheel repair, reinstall and rebalance $25
Total time 30min.--No scratches, gouges or chunks taken out of wheel due to idiot tire jockeys.

Extra $40 because the tire gets mounted/demounted upside down?? That's retarded-- That doesn't even make sense!

Can't really understand why guys know they are going to get screwed at most CT's but they go anyway.

Now The Tire Shop is the only place I trust with my tires, never again will I go somewhere else. I used to take off the rim and bring the tire to a shop and still get my fucking rims bent... You guys should call Dwight and get your tires handled professionaly.

I NEVER go to CT anymore. Last time i went was because i had to change a tire, and same thing as dre.. they were 5mins away, and they had my tire size in stock. So, i bought the tire from CT, and got it putting it on the rim/balanced right across the street. CT said TWO HOURS for this little job, and the firestone place literally had it done in 10 minutes.

Just to give you an idea about these chumps, my friend (who knows about half as much about cars as i do, and im not bragging) got a job as a mechanic there. And i would consider myself an "amateur" beginner. So that's fucked up.
