I have some long term goals for my type-S. Make a long story short, I am hoping that I will be able to take her off the road this winter coming up (or next) and start working on her. I would like to start by remove the engine and let someone rebuild it with a new cylinder bore & sleeves, pistons, rings, valves&springs, cams, while I do work on the engine bay, suspension and brakes.

I have already priced out the all the new engine parts and machining required. but what am I looking at in the pure labour cost to have a k20a2 rebuilt by a professional and/or a weekend mech that knows what he is doing?

Take into account that the engine will basically be pre-dismantled, and all parts will be ready for the build.

Right now this is a pipe dream, but I am just planning it out now.

I assume that if the guy knows what he is doing its a single day of work?

Ninja edit. Labour only would probably be $500-1500.
