I don't know much about hondas other than they are fairly reliable, and theres a million bolt on rice parts out there for them.

But heres my question, A 1992 Prelude with the 2.3L H series engine, Does it or does in not have VTEC. I read somewhere that the 91 and the 93 had the H22 with Vtec and 92's came with a less powerful H23. Now the sticker on the window at the dealership says Vtec, but it it doesn't have it I'll use that to bargain for a better price. Cause i don't really give a shit about the vtac i just want a winter beater thats not ugly.

thanks!!

no, the H23 did not have VTEC - only the H22A did.

The model was called the Prelude "VTEC" or SR-V.
The SR has the H23

Tell the dealer he's false advertising the vehicle to bring up its sale price. So many dealers/private sellers do this. It's not even funny.

Here's the model breakdown with their factory engines:

S - Base model 92-96 Prelude - F22A(1) - 2.2L SOHC Non-VTEC engine - 130hp

SR - Intermediate model for the 92-96 Prelude - H23A(1) - 2.3L DOHC NON-VTEC engine - 160hp

SR-V (VTEC) - Highest Trim Model for the 92-96 Prelude - H22A(1) - 2.2L DOHC VTEC engine - 190hp
