I will be swapping an h22a with a m2u4 lsd transmission. There is a section that is out about 3.5 inches from the differential housing. It's a 2 piece design one goes into another? Does any accord prelude intermediate , jack shaft fit/work for this.
Thanks jamie

good luck getting that to work, you just bought an expensive paperweight.
I think someone just got screwed... I might have a computer that can run that though... If you can get the ATTS unit.

I,m really not getting it? Do i have something out of the ordinary? So is an h22 lsd eg imposible with this transmission? It seems that the half shaft goes into it cause the lsd is straight through. My problem is i don't have a half shaft.
thanks jamie.

What you have isn't a LSD transmission. You have an ATTS transmission from a 97+ Prelude. It is useless in anything but another 97+ prelude, due to all the electronics that run it. I've never heard of anyone runing an ATTS tranny after swapping into a civic. Not to say it is impossible, just impractical.
The code for the regular H22A LSD transmission is M2B4.
Wherever you got the transmisison from, take it back and get a refund.

To answer your original question more direclty, there is no such thing as a half shaft for an ATTS transmission.
It goes:
drivers axle -> ATTS unit -> transmission -> passanger axle

"The only H22 to avoid is from the Type SH Prelude. The brilliant torque distribution system (an electronically controlled box of clutches bolted to the block that Honda calls ATTS) replaces the intermediate shaft and its mounting bracket. The engine and transmission code to avoid is H22A4 and M2U4, respectively. Again, when someone actually swaps this in functionally, let us know."

Went to japan power with thinking that all was good & got a half shaft & bolt right in right?. :owned: As i got back home to realize that i really feel fucked & all sales were final with no possible refunds. My error didn't do any research on the M2U4 thinking the whole time it was a M2B4 Shit.So i'm passed that moving on, what are my options guy"s thanks jamie.
I just spoke to a customer yesterday who told me they were trying to sell him an ATTS tranny telling him it was a great LSD tranny for his civic - fortunately he knew the difference. You can't even bolt the ATTS unit on a regular H22 because the oil filter is in a different place and the block casting is different - trust me I learned the expensive way. If they sold it to you saying it was compatible with X or Y or Z then you could probably take them to small claims for breach of warrantee. Usually if you take something like that back they will take it back if you buy something more expensive instead.

I have an ideal may sound crazy so brace yourself!! The transmission differential itself is lsd right? Cause i installed the small atts sections on one side & the half shaft on the other got some one to turn the clutch side splined shaft and both sides with resistance on the 2 atts sections all moved the same direction? So i was wondering if i line up the shortened customized half shaft and weld the 2 atts sections together then this would all work? I know welding shafts is expensive. Thanks again for your info guys.

Just sell it to somebody with a Prelude SH, those transmissions are expensive and you can probably get your money back and/or more.
I think if you welded that then you'd effectively have a welded diff type tranny - as in clunk clunk clunk around the corner. I haven't looked at the actual diagrams in a while but I remember there is no diff in the tranny - instead it relies on the external ATTS to decouple the shaft while turning a corner.

what are your options regarding type SH suspension geometry and halfshafts/hubs
maybe you could just build a one off custom prelvic

I don't think that's possible. Hack said there is no diff in the tranny!

Well obviously it works in the prelude... I was alluding to the possibility of grabbing the components necessary to make the system work.
It would be a one off completly custom thing. Whether it is financially viable or not is another story.

Thanks for the info guy's. I now would like to get a transmission from a jdm importer. I was quoted 590 from tiger jap in toronto and 1300 for the lsd m2b4 is there another cheaper option sh gears in a f22 transmission? thanks.
