its got a fresh battery, but it won't start, the other day when it died it would idle rough and then die if i didn't have the accelerator pressed down.

What i think might be wrong is it has bad gas (i put some from my generator supply that i had stored in gerry cans earlier in the day that the car died) and when i try to start the car it almost catches.

Anybody have any idea's?

update, i got the car to start, it still chugged hard every once and a while (again why i think its bad gas) so i followed the wife, we didn't even get around the corner of my street when her car died, i jumped in, fired it up, and drove it to the gas station, keeping the rpm's up. we put in some fresh gas, put it in drive and it stalled, fired it up, left it in neutral and was running ok, put it in reverse, let the car sit and it wanted to stall, put it in drive and it would run fine for about a minute then stalled. I fired the car up again no problem, its still chugging hard, and almost stalled on me while i was in neutral. i let it idle for 5 mins, and was able to drive it home. Its an auto and i've read on here that the tork converter could cause it to stall while in gear, but it doesn't always stall in gear. Right now i have it sitting on my road idling and i'm going to use up most of the gas in the car so i can put a fresh batch and see if thats maybe the issue.

If anybody has any suggestions that would be great,

so new battery, new plugs and wires, car starts fine, but after a couple of minutes of idling it dies,

i'm running out of idea's, fuel filter?

I also noticed quite a bit of white smoke coming out of the exaust, cracked head and burning coolant? or is it just burning oil? or could it be water in gas? I know its a long shot to ask on here, but hey i figure it can't hurt.
