so this is a longshot on here but here goes.
just starting an extensive build up on my gt.
havent decided the lower end specifics yet(bore,stroke...)
im going with a fully forged lower end and probably stg 3 heads. so the motor alone should be pretty potent.
heres my dillema. cant decide on either
twin turbo.
a)custom built TT set up(55+mm snails)
b)HP performance stg 2 TT set up(57mm t3/t4s)http://www.turbochargedpower.com/96-04%20Mustang.htm
blower
c)Kenne Bell BIG bore 2.6l twin screw http://www.kennebell.net/superchargers/ford/gt96-03_2v/gt99-04_26L.htm
d)Paxton Novi 2200 centrifigural http://www.paxtonauto.com/superchargers_novi_2200.html
i want big power for when i take er to the strip but tame enough when i drop the boost to drive on the street.
right now im looking at the kenne bell because of the sound/reliability. i know turbos are fussy, and dont really wanna take any chances. not to mention im guarenteed over 500horse :mullet:
what ya guys think?

one big turbo would do great on it. put in a T88 turbo.
also, you have two choices:
A) turbo: spool up with high end power
B) supercharger/procharger: low end power

Two different worlds. What type of power do you like?
My vote is the KB s/c. Can't beat the feel of a flat torque curve. It will also be much cheaper.

you cant beat much of what kenne bell offers, thats why im looking at them. the new big bore kits are capable of 950 horse and only start at 450+. it states on the site you MUST have forged internals to consider using it lol.
as for one turbo, too much lag. these things dont have any torque down low as it is, you need a little one to get you moving till the big one kicks in;)
as for $$ the TT kits are pricey as fuck but they include alot of shit i already have(all the suspension stuff,k member..).
ive heard its cheaper to build a kit peice by peice.
the novi kit is the cheapest i think but i dont really like the sound.
im looking for something with alot of torque low and power up top. but as i said, streetability at low boost is key.
i drive like a granny in her

a single T-60 turbo and it will spool up early and give you power throughout your powerband!
it seems to be popular turbo for street fun 8psi.. and people runnning like 15+ at the track on good internals running rediculous power!

ive heard of that before, thats the turbo that the tt supras switch to if they go single right? could be an idea.
turbos are starting to dominate the mustang scene lol. making rediculous power.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XAcdgLj1_-0 :mullet:

one thing to remeber are that the positive displacemnt blower like the Kenne Bells act as a big heat sink. They creat alot of torque down low but not big numbers up high. The blowers in mustangs are tried and true. I would say a Novi 2000 would be a great idea. Just make sure to do an 8 rib or 10 rib setup. That Novi 2000 will pull for days on that 4.6liter. If you want the most efficeient setup you should go turbo/turbos but like you said they come with other hassles although they will probably make the biggest power.
The Fords love the blower and I have never seen one that didn't but I vote for the Centri Blower or the turbo :)

Belts are for holding your pants up, go buy some turbos, something like an MP T70 or similar sized BW unit would be a good match to a small cube mod motor.

Hey Dipset, I went through the same dilemma a while back. I sadly couldn't afford me a nice KB but I did go with a Eaton M112 running 11psi and am very VERY happy with the results. Went from 271to 405 at the wheels on a PI 4.6L with only minor other mods. Dude at Lentech auto did the tune. Hope that helps.

holy shit thats a nice gain. i think ive decided to go the good ol pushrod route though. its cheaper and easier to make power. 351 with a bore, some afr heads,a forged stroker kit and a custom cam and i should be alright, plus half the prive to build up a mod motor. coast high performance has a discusting 427 stroker kit that easily makes 450+ horse.
im going down to toronto to see joe dasilva tuesday, well get a blueprint written up and see where it goes from there lol.
I've tuned a couple of kits on mustangs both turbo and supercharged. I hear the same arguments over and over. Most V8 guys are unwilling to accept this turbo lag they've heard so much about from the teeny tiny displacement honda guys. When you start with a decent cam (or cams if you're doing a 4.6) plus heads you already have no trouble turning the tires faster than the road. Add on a pair of relatively small T3/T04E's and you'll max out around 750whp and they don't take a lot to spool up either.
A supercharger kit will be far far cheaper but ultimately the turbos will get better fuel mileage, make more power and despite what some say be more reliable. Blowers put a lot of strain on your engine and they're less efficient than turbos - this translates into more heat for a given boost level. A lot of the reliability comes down to tuning and good fab work. There are tons and tons of examples on turbo mustangs and even a few companies who have started selling kits.
