So I changed the pads on the Delsol yesterday.
When I put the new ones on, the rotor won't sit flush on the hub. I pushed the piston all the way back into the caliper, but the disc still won't sit flat on the hub, it's got this slight outward angle. Anyone know what could cause this?

Since it's got that angle, the pads are always rubbing against the rotor and the wheel is getting really f*ckin hot.

How do you take a caliper appart?
Obviously I know how take off the lower bolt to slide the caliper up to change the pads, but what about the stationary slider pin at the top of the caliper? How do you take that one out? I'd like to take it appart to grease it.

Sounds like you may need a new caliper. double check to make sure the piston retracts properly and that the sliders work. Maybe get someone who is a mechanic to give you a hand - brakes aren't good for guesswork.

The piston does go all way back in. When pushed in, the piston sits a bit further inside the assy.
The caliper is kinda hard to swing up and down. So I believe my "rotor at an angle" might be related to that. If I could get the thing appart and clean/grease it, I think I could solve my problem.

On my car, the location in red is not a bolt that I can just take a ratchet too and take off.

You can slide the caliper off the top pin that it pivots up on. Make sure to lube the pins.

Really?
So I should be able to take the lower bolt off and slide the thing off?
I guess I'll try hamering it out to clean it then, cause I don't think it will just slide off

you should still be able to get the slide pins out, take both caliper bolts off then remove that whole piece, and the slide pins are what your caliber bolts threaded into. twist the little rubber boot off of one side before you just pull the pins out ( ie : don't rip the boot) if the pins are all rusty - you may not be able to get it to work properly , but there is a brake caliper lube that you can buy.

I have personally tried this with super old calipers and still couldnt get them working properly. the key is to lube up the slider pins before something goes wrong ( yea right )

I'm in Aylmer...
And I'm 95% positive there is no bolt at the top.
I'll see if I can take a picture of it tonight.

If there is no bolt at the top it's going to be a metal slide pin that is intergral with the caliper.

But like michael said, if you don't know what you're doing get someone who does to help you. Last thing you want is to kill someone or yourself because you were too cheap to fork over $75

Remove the 12mm bolt holding in the bottom pin. The caliper flips upwards and slides off the top pin.
