so my engine is at the machine shop and should get assembled next week, now i went through 2 cometic headgaskets in 8 months, i want to know what other headgaskets people use on their cars.

btw, its an ls/vtec,

and i heard that spraying red tack to both sides of the headgasket help it (well i have heard people who use cometic ones do this

and debate over what to torque my headstuds to (ARP), most likely answer is to spec obviosly

Wouldn't it be safe to say if you keep blowing HG's that something else is wrong and they are just giving away?

Using ARP studs you have to follow a specific heat cycle procedure to torque down the head. Im sure thats why u keep blowing H.Gs

Its an NA LS vtec... use normal head bolts... its not like ur pushing 300whp

ya, that's the reason the block and head are being decked at the machine shop
