The brakes on my GF's echo were pretty fucked. Every time you applied them, massive vibration. I figured they were warped.
Anyhow, I replaced the pads and rotors yesterday (Thanks No Limits). The rotors were nasty, looked like a groove in the middle of the rotor was forming except for one high spot. The pads are what had me scratching my head though. The outside pad had hardly any wear at all (about 4mm left). The inside pad (both driver and passenger sides) were pretty much done. There wasn't more than 1mm left on both of them. This is the pad that touches the actual piston.
My question is, what is causing the uneven pad wear? The sliders seemed to move fairly freely.
Thoughts?

Sliders are probably stuck, grease them up good.

Good to know. When I get the chance I'll take it apart again and grease up the sliders. Thanks guys.

if the uneven wear is normal (no clue cause never touched an echo) but I would flip the pads (inside to outside and vice-versa)... and even out the wear... might as well... a bit of time and save some $$.

I can do that with the set I put on Sunday, but the old ones were done. At the end of the month I'll take it apart again and see what's going on.
