Hey guys,

CAR: 2002 Honda Si (Automatic)

PROBLEM: When going to start the car, the first key turn will turn the car over but it wont start.... when you back the key off and into the off position, and then go back on to start, it will then turn over and start right away...

It has happend a few times... turn key, spin spin spin.. doesnt start... key off.. key back on... and boom... starts...

Any ideas? heard this before?

my integra does that once in a while... Try turning your key to accessory and wait for 5-10 seconds then try to start it.. Probably the fuel your pump is getting weak?? Try it and let us know if it will start first shot.

anti start or alarm going bad... or if you have a autostarter..

Check valve in the fuel pump going bad? Try leaving the key in the on position, as frank2003 stated, for a few seconds before cranking to give it time for pressure to build again.

does it happen all the time?

because my RSX starts 100% every time, but it will struggle to start if I let the fuel tank go below 1/6th full.

if you want a to do a cheap test just buy some F.I. cleaner, Fill'er up, take it for a little drive. Next morning see if it turns over a little better.

but it could be anything else......

-fuel pump
-fuel filter
-plugs
-battery could be weak.
