Haha...yep...that was me. I was heading south, saw the white smart car with a chick driving, and a guy in the passenger seat. Figured it was a good chance it was you since you always talk about using your wifey's smart car for daily running around. Let the incessant teasing begin.

I just got married, and my manhood is still more intact than yours...lol.

They are only dangerous if a bunch of them park together and start 'Sig Heiling'

I'll be the first to give praise to the Smartcar, it's fucking FUN to drive, and anyone who's given it a shot has said the same thing. its like a little go-cart! I'm trying to get h er to chip it!

PS, saving gas money when you're trying to pay for a wedding > proving what an awesome man I am. everyone who matters already knows :P

I know all too well about wedding expenses. What I was surprised about was that enough cash gifts came in to cover the cost of the honeymoon and both our wedding rings.

If you still need a photographer or DJ, let me know. Both of mine were amazing, and everyone at my wedding praised their good work. (I praised their good work, and fantastic prices!)

I don't have a DJ yet. I have a DJ friend but dunno if he'll DJ the wedding. I wonder how much DJ Ilon charges... :D

Ilon doesn't really like doing weddings, but I know if you're planning a stag he might be down for that.

I'll PM you the DJ info for the guy I had.

$10 cover charge...

Casper97RS
07-27-2007, 07:10 AM
Haha. Stag was great. Ours wasn't overly big, and we still managed to make like $900. Charged $6/ticket or 2 for $10. The ticket sales was basically enough to cover the rental of the hall. Then everything made from booze, door prizes, 50/50 draws was all profit. Most profit comes from booze.

There are no Volvo's or Saab's on that list. No German car either.

That's because German cars are the safest. See they make the body from real metal not tin can aluminum :)

but you dont have a 27 year old car that was the pinnacle of safety, amazon volvo is the reason why you fuckers have seat belts, and your beamer is like the rest, unlike my tricore steel body with beams in the doors,

it sucks when your not allowed in demolishing rallys becuase its a volvo.

07-27-2007, 03:01 PM
no matter what the car, your fucked in a 60 km crash. fifth gear tested the iron shell in a crash and showed the frame bending.

This study is probably for the 2001-2007 models. 2008 was pretty much a total overhaul so it may be different.

I'm just glad not to be at the top. It's ironic how my parents always said they felt safe in that far (mainly my mom) lol

A car that doesn't crumble when during a crash is not really safe. When the cars crumble it absorbs the energy. ;)

Actually, you are wrong.

Ford was the first to put seats belts in their cars.

Mercedes Benz was the one who invented tensioners.

Volvo was the one who invented 3 point seat belts..

How much weight should one put into these reports? I have a friend who owns a new Hyundai Accent - do you think she should be concerned?

The write up for the Accent:

6. Hyundai Accent
Four-Door

SCORE: 132

Consumer Reports' accident avoidance: Average

The Accent tested near the bottom among all cars, according to IIHS crash testing, with the organization giving it a "Poor" rating in both side-impact and rear-impact tests, plus an unimpressive "Acceptable" frontal rating. And this is with standard side airbags. When the federal government tested an Accent four-door sedan, it rated its side-impact performance with three stars--the lowest it gets in 2007.

Keep in mind this is for the 4-door. Does she have the 4-door? I don't know how much weight can be placed on these reports, but one thing that stood out is the fact that it rated really low WITH STANDARD SIDE AIRBAGS. Most of the other low rated impact results were listed as without the standard side air bags. But when those side airbags became standard or the option was picked, it boosted from 3 to 5 stars. By the sounds of this report, I wouldn't want to be stuck in an Accent.

The Accent has standard side impact air bags? Strange that it would get a poor rating like you mentioned - I wonder if there is a problem with the airbags. Hmm, well I think I might pass this report along to her. She has the 4 door if I remember correctly. I know she's happy about her new car so I don't want to be a jerk and try to take away from that, but noone wants to see their friends at undue risk. Thanks for the info!

I'd be concerned.. Also due to the fact that she's owned the thing for less than five months, and already been in two major accidents :D
