need some advice on some stuff and qoutes from vendors on here that can do such work like psi, mild2wild etc

i have an h22 that i just bought it needs valve seals, its id say 90% dissasembled and i have a box of all the parts (i think)

i need to know how much it would cost to rebuild the head with new valve seals and put it all backtogether and aswells as engine assembly the bottom end it asembled minus the timing component which id like to get new and convert to the h23 tensioner which i hear is a good invesment since the hydraulic tensionor is bad news on these

the motor is missing quite a bit of misc thing like head studs head bolts and what not so i would need things like that

any helpo is apprieated i know alot of people are going to suggest doiung some of it myself to learn but i work a a fulltime job daytiome and a job at night and i would like to get it done before next year lol

thanks

A lot of it depends on how many hours need to be spent. If you have a box of parts then some of the cost depends on how many are missing and how much time must be spent finding them. While building the engine the cost of doing the tensioner conversion was about 1/2h of labour plus parts. Parts are tough to price because I prefer to use honda parts for everything and some of it depends on exactly what you need. For example timing belt? Water pump? Bolts? covers? Basically i'd need to see all the stuff.

yeha i understand what you mean i have mater pump and everyhting its on the block i have 2 timing belts but its one of those things id buy new while the motors out just for that extra security. and we are on the same page for parts i was told its best to use honda parts especailly for things like the vlave seals and what not i know for sure i have everything for the head the box with all the head stuff is fairly organized i have the valves valve springs cams cam gears and cam caps, and obviously would like to upgrade things like go to some arp headstuds

as for the bolts etc i know i dont have the head studs or bolts, valve cover bold bolts to hold on the timing cover etc

i know i could drop everyhting off and let you haul ass on it but i dont want to be the kind of customer that has a fully assembel engine there and cant pay the bill you know? casue that sucks for me and you casue it takes up room and i dont have my engine

budget 1000-1500 for machine work parts and labour. i have 3 or four h22a lying around i could get you the pieces you are missing. or you could buy my spare h22a and save alot of time and money
