With 20 years of parts knowledge, my best guess is one is a smooth finish, and the other one is a textured finish, this would be similer to a rough or non smooth finish would be my guess.

:lol: smooth is supposed to be available in a few days, textured is in stock, bump this post up on monday (or pm) and I'll check stock again.

no, its wasn't. I just fixed up his old VW symbol and slapped it on the new grill. We need to get it painted though...

Lotbetter than the $240 the dealership was asking for!

I had an oem Black one kicking around had i known you needed one.

I found it odd that the supplier did not list one with the chrome trim your dads had on it, definatly a much more expensive grille from the factory.
Your dad thought it was fine though, seems like a pretty easy going lad :lol:

Glad it fit well.
