Posted on the old RL too...wanted to post here as well!

So I'm currently paying $202/month for 1-way coverage. I had a couple tickets, an accident...and I was under 25. This May I turned 25, and I only have 1 speeding ticket and 1 accident on my record. I was gonna search for better insurance, and tell my high risk broker to fuck off.

I called Bel-air, like everyone else on here, and they were going to cost me almost what I'm paying now, but for full coverage, accident forgiveness, and $0 deductible. I was kinda happy with that, since I do still have a couple dings on my record, and now I could finally have full coverage again.

I always get mail from the Algonquin College Alumni, telling me that as an alumni, I get a group rate through Johnson Inc. I finally decided to give them a call. Mucho impressed. Here's what I will now pay:

Full coverage, accident forgiveness, $500 deductible, car rental and car rental insurance

$144.63/month for 11 months - with no first month/last month up front crap.

I guarantee any alumni will get cheaper rates through these guys...give them a call! 613-728-6800

144 is still more than I pay on my brand new impreza  then again, it was a 60$/month drop for you so it's pretty significant.

The algonquin alumni mastercard through MBNA is pretty swee too... 11% compared to a regular visa at like 19%

Not only did it drop $60/month, but I will also have full coverage now. I was paying 202 for one-way!!! So really, the savings are QUITE emense...like the Daniel-San of insurance savings. Thank god I've been pretty clean the last couple years, and almost everything is gone now!

Ima check out this Algonquin Alumni jazz, hopefully it isn't based on your school performance though *insert nervous eye rolly old RL emoticon thingy here*

i know state farm offers the good student discount. where if you get over a 70 average it cuts your insurance down by almost 30%. The thing my grades at algonquin havent been the greatest either, so no discount for me.

It's been coming into me at the same rate for about as long. I always tossed it aside, especially since I was under 24 with a few dings, I knew they would probably turn me down, and that's why I stayed with a broker. But this year, I turned 25, and had a couple tickets go away, so I went shopping, and these guys were far cheaper! Group rates FTW!

And ya...like Andre said...haven't been a student for 3 years now...so no "good student" discount. But I guess this group rate Alumni thing is just as good!
