sometime in the near future, i want to trade in the Civic.

i am not looking for speed, not looking for souping up, i want a nice comfy big ride. my choices are as follows

1) 2007 camry 4cylinder
2) 2007 Crysler 300, 6 cylinder 2.7 or 3.5l
3) 2007 Dodge Charger 6 cylinder
4) something of equal size.

i will go a year old with aroun 30k on it, i wanna pay 20-25.

i am leaning towards the 300, i absolutly LOVE the way it looks, and rear wheels add to the fun factor. But what worries me is relability, gas consumption, and the fact that its american.

the camry i really like the way it looks, and its very comfy, and good on gas, BUT its a camry, rather boring, and the price of a used one isnt much lower then a new one.

what does everyone think, what have u heard about the 300.

i rented a magnum for a few weeks

i then took a fully loaded RT model out for a test drive

the car is huge but i thought the cloth seats were more comfortable then the leather

How about a TSX?

The TSX is probably a bit small for what he wants.

you like the way it looks, good on gas, you dont care about modifying it, you dont care about speed, used ones keep their value.

It looks like Toyota is the winner

but i care about wow factor, and i care about having fun when driving it, and the camry doesnt have those.

and resale value holding works againsts me because i wanna go slightly used.

wow factor?, something fun to drive?, you are looking at:

1) 2007 camry 4cylinder
2) 2007 Crysler 300, 6 cylinder 2.7 or 3.5l
3) 2007 Dodge Charger 6 cylinder
4) something of equal size.

we must have different criterias for WOW factor and FUN to drive ???

If you are sure you dont want the Camry, then dont put it as an option.

Why does it have to be 4-dr? You have a family?

no familly

but i like 4 doors, cause i always have friends and whatnot in the car. and my parents and siblings spend summers with me, so i need to fit them in my car.

dude, why so defensive ?

i like the camry, just a part of me tells me i will enjoy the 300 more cause its rear wheel drive, and the fact that it looks so pimp, and its bigger, and has more boot to it.

I drove an 06 4 cyl Camry, hated it. I thnk they come with a 5 spped tranny. I alwyas felt it upshifted too quickly, has no manual feature, hated the radio position...and it was BORING as hell to drive.

Drove a few 6 cyl 300's and loved them. The backseat is much bigger in the Chrysler than the Camry. Fit a babyseat no problem, even had room to put 2 passengers. Can't do that with the Camry. The manual gear selection worked really well too. Some will say the 6 lacks power but I found it adequate even with 4 passengers.

There's more but all I can suggest is drive them back to back and let us know what happens.

but in truth why put it as an option if you already know you don't want it..
i'm also wondering have you test driven the camry yet? i test drove it in the fall and i was fairly impressed by the power out of the 4cyl + factory areo package is pretty nice

What about a Maxima ?
Reliable, large but not to large, not TOO bad on gas, and there is certainly WOW factor to it.

I like the new Camry's exterior and interior. It has a lot of punch for a family sedan as well. I love the new styling with the aero kit though. Usually a lot of cars with aero kits are very subtle, but when I first looked at the Camry, I knew right away that there was an aero kit on there.

I had a rental 300 with a V6 at Shannonville a while back. With the V6 it was no more fun than a FWD car. Even with the ESP turned off I could only get the ass end to come out on the slow tight corner before the long straight. Other than that it understeered like a FWD car.

I like the 300's. They look great in grey or black. I would go for the hemi version but the bigger V6 is acceptable. The manager at Benson's on Campbell just bought one for a company car. It's a great looking ride and he loves it. He has 2 kids and said there was enough room.

The Toyota may be considered the better car, but if both were free and I had to drive one for a year, I would still take the 300...jet black with limo tint and some nice wheels.

Go drive them both if you haven't done so already.
