so ive opted to go back to naturally aspirated and part out all the boost parts in favour of a naturally aspirated fire breathing LT1 yacht with a 150 Nitrous shot. trans is still the T56 although i am debating going to a built th400 or 4l60e (OEM) with a 2800 converter but the rear end will probably get new 4:10 or 4:56 gears if i stay with the t56 (there are 3:42's which are great for an Auto but they were in with teh 6 spd to let it stay in one gear and under load longer with boost), ill probably swap out the stage 4 clutch for a 3 or 2 with dampers and no pucks if i keep the 6 spd. i picked up a set of 17" forged 3 piece fikse wheels that im gonna have widened in the rear to run a 315 rear tire. the car already has a mild lingenfelter cam, 1.6 rollers, crane springs, aluminum heads ported and polished, full rebuild with high flow oil pump and cometic gaskets etc. ram horn style headers, AS&M TB etc etc. hoepfully it should make 350-400HP at teh wheels without the NOS and 500ish with. as long as it gets into teh high 12's off the laughing gas ill be happy considering it weighs 4300 lbs. im in teh process of removing all the parts right now before it goes to the body shop for a respray in the OEM cherry metallic http://rides.webshots.com/album/56958899EeKvDg

im gonna shave the rear trunk emblem as it was stolen anyway and is worth 250$ to replace as well as replace the windshield and hood, put the AC back in it and a whole lot more. with any luck this is waht youll be looking at next summer.

I'm surprised you never got that thing to start. I would have kept it boosted. George passed away before we ever got a chance to turbo his...

Andre, it was boosted but the silicon based pistons and non forged internals just couldnt keep up with the pressure and after my 2nd 300$ all iron blcok out of a caprice i really didnt wanna continue and this aint honda stuff as you know so you gotta pour cash into it to make it make useable power. i am tired of replacing motors etc so this time i picked up a 1997 corvette LT4 4 bolt motor for 1500$ and replaced the stock cam with a lingenfelter cam designed for the bigger impala and vortec powered trucks with much more low end tq at teh sacrifice of a couple hundred rpm at teh top end (112 LSA 212/219). the motor has 1.6 GMPP roller rockers, GMPP push rods, GMPP Hydraulic rollers, beehive springs, double roller cloyes timing chain,24# injectors, mallory ignition, 54mm TB, port and polished intake, tri-y headers etc etc etc., most guys running similiar setups are making 400ish crank hp and 425 ish tq or more, should go like stink with a 175 wet shot added to the top, im aiming to get 500+ at the rear wheels on the laughing gas

michael...It started, that wasnt the issue, issue was that it wouldve just blown up again with the silicon based hypereutectic pistons. the motor is strong but not boost strong. itll hold 500hp in NA form no prob but boost is too hard on the car and besides which car is worth more ironically enough in near stock condition and i dont wanna chance blowing up that lt4 since its extra sexy looking and has really low miles on it.

if you still got some of your turbo stuff for sale, i got a 150 wet shot nitrous kit to throw down on some stuff!

Mark, as I've always said, it comes down to tuning. If your pistons are able to take a 150 shot of laughing gas then they're able to take a good amount of boost.

most of em run a super retrcicted 15 sec 1/4 mile. opened up with headers, exhaust, intake, pcm tuning, rollers, rear gears tq convertor and a cam they will get into the deep 13's with ease, lots of guys running em into teh low 12's and high 11's with bolt ons and 15o NOS spray ont eh stock bottom ends. the motor makes a conservative 260hp in stock form but can easily make 350 to the rear wheels with 2-3g's in mods
