hey guys,

I have a 2005 sentra, Looking to buy an HID kit, but first i need to know a few things. I know i require 9008 bulb kit but the sentra only has one set of bulbs for highs and lows.

was wondering if i would need a single xenon HID kit or a bi-xenon kit ( possibly to enable the highs AND lows from one bulb )and if someone could share the difference with me. been searching the net for the answer but cant find it.

thanks a lot.

Pat

lol, if you don't get a high and low kit you won't have high beams. They work off of one bulb. You will need a bi-xenon kit if you want to have both beams.

Second to the right is bi-xenon bulb.

Wiring is a little more complex with a high and low kit but nothing to worry about. If you have questions send me a PM, I have pictures of my install.

Get an Ignited kit from Teknotik.

I have a set in my car that are just one bulb but since my kit came with a high/low settings I have HID high beams.

That means when someone flashes their highs at me I take it onto myself to show them what my high beams look like and they learn quickly.

But back to topic the bi-zenon kits are good and the non zenon ones are good, so it all depends on what is offered for your setup. (Example my car takes H4 bulbs. And i had the choice when I bought mine for H4-1 (Non zenon) or H4-2(Bi-zenon) I chose H4-1 and love them

You ever think people flash their beams at you because you have HID's in a non projector housing?

Please buy projectors, or retrofit your headlights. It is quite annoying driving in front, or towards idiots who put HID's into their stock non hid housings!

On the other hand, check out http://www.absolutehid.ca/ , send them an email, great guy to deal with.

dont get 12 000k. You wont see shit at night... You can get 4300k and retrofit bmw projectors for a nice white\blue color... I know 4300 is sunlight color but the projector makes it white\blueish....

Projector or not, it is ALWAYS pure white. Just the projector will give you a very very dim blue hue, if you really look for it.

4300k is the BEST to use, as it is the closest and more realiable source of light.

After that you need a projector, and well most of the light after 6000k is pretty much useless, its only good at pissing people off!

Casper here we come LOL.

Guys who get anything over 5,000 k are fuckin idoits. The brightest light is at 4300-5000. Above that you are fuckin up peoples eyes and your eyes. After long drives with 8000k you vision and reaction times get fucked up.

If you put a set of hid's in your car put it up against the garage door and turn them on and look at them. If the line is straight and there is no glare above the line your great. If not you are just creating glare and you are pissing drivers off like me coming on to you and you are actualy fuckin your actual vision up.The glare causes you to pay more attention up high and makes your driving more stressful to ur eyes.

Picked up a set of 55w 4300K 9007s for my sunfire. Was planning on cutting fitted holes in the bumper for a set of driving lights I got but theres almost no need now.

4300K is literally the best light output ur gonna get w. HID. Everything above 6000 is just for show. If you're lookin to be a douche, go ahead and waste ur money on 6000k and above but if u wanna SEE whats ahead of you, be a man, do the right thing!

Yes get the high - low kit... only problem is.... your DRLs won't work right? my friend has hi-lo on his and its either on or off or high beam haha..
those looking into retrofits and all... easiest kit to install.. no cutting or drilling
get this
http://www.theretrofitsource.com/product_info.php?products_id=227&osCsid=loks44vfu2irjrds3lu8v4p02m8p2qco
comes with everything you need and results are amazing

also.. 4300k should be stock temp for most lux cars that come with hids as a standard option... the most common temp i see ppl using is the 6k because lots of companies make that and 4300k and 5k are less common.. but yes... anything over 5k you are slowly losing output which defeats the purpose of hids in the first place

He's right. DRL is just the car providing half the voltage to the bulb. HID ballasts don't like this, it's reduce the ballast life expectancy significantly.

You'll have to cut the DRLs out someway. I pulled my relay and removed the DRL wire. Pretty simple
