Alpine Electronics of Canada has confirmed that it will soon sell its products through Future Shop stores across Canada.
"The Canadian retail landscape has evolved and as such, so must we," explains Mike Brawley, Vice President of Alpine Canada. "The independent A/V retailers and regionalized chains will continue to enjoy the same standard of support they have experienced in the past."
Since its inception in 1979, Alpine Canada has been considered one of the premium car electronics brands in the country. The brand equity achieved over the past few decades, says the firm, will help to enhance Alpine's position in Canada through this new partnership.
"Our position in the Canadian marketplace and our relationship with our existing retail partners is something we continue to be fiercely protective and proud of," adds Brawley. "We know that Future Shop's dominant position in mobile electronics will further strengthen our brand equity as they can consistently advertise the Alpine brand and help to drive our total volume sales to new heights."
All 140 Future Shop stores across Canada will carry select Alpine merchandise, including iPod integration and Bluetooth products, in-car navigation, and mobile audio/video. Products are expected to be on store shelves by mid-April.
"Future Shop is thrilled to be partnering with Alpine, and excited about the incredible additional product selection we will be bringing to our customers as a result," enthuses Rob Catherwood, Senior Merchandise Manager at Future Shop. "This venture is in direct response to feedback we received from our employees and our customers, and we are anticipating an incredible response once the products are available in-store and online at Future Shop.ca next month."
The 12V market has seen some tough times as of late, given the improved quality of factory-built systems, as well as the current state of the economy. But new categories of devices, like iPod integration, Bluetooth and mobile phone integration, and portable GPS, has helped to inject new interest into the category.
