hey i was just wondering if you could hook up a sub with using an after market deck... i have heard about something you wire up using your back speaker wires, and it changes it into your rcas or something? anyone heard of this?

You need to get a Line-Out Converter. You (generally) hook it up to your rear speakers and then you go about plugging your RCA's into the Amp and from there it's the same as any other setup.

A good thing to remember is that some/most factory decks these days filter the signal that goes to the front speakers, rear speakers, other speakers, factory sub, etc.
When you use one of those wires to tap into a signal for your aftermarket amp/sub setup, you may not get great/optimal sound if it is filtered.
For example, on my 07 Civic EX (4 front speakers, 2 rear and 1 factory sub), only the front speaker signal isn't filtered, or not filtered as much. I had my aftermarket amp/sub wired to the factory sub wire, as well as the factory rear speakers wires, and in both those ways, it sounded like complete cr@p.
I switched the input to tap into the front speakers instead and it's a day/night difference.
This may be a non-issue if you're lucky enough to have unfiltered speaker signals coming out of your factory deck!

Yeah, probably. If not in-store, check in the car audio installation bays.

If you still need one (or two) PM me, I have some lying around.
Heres the deal with LOC's (line out converters). They work but it will depend on the application/install.
Most newer cars have an EQ built into the deck. As the volume knob is turned up, the bass is electronically lowered. this saves the manufacturers from replacing blown speakers. This works great..until you add a sub. what you find is you have alot of bass at lower volume and the bass will drop at higher volumes.
The answer is a newer style of LOC. It takes the modified signal and corrects it to a normal flat response. It also can go on either side of a factory amp and puts out 8 volt pre out for the low end with a built in X-over and hi-pass. its called a re-q and retails for $129.
P.m me for detail
