It's not really vacation for me because I'm going out of town for work but I've given the #1 mechanic a week of vacation from the 6th to the 10th. Jamal will still be answering phones and taking deliveries from noon to 17:00 during that week. He can still make tuning appointments for the 18th and on. General maintenance jobs will still be booked outside the week Philippe is gone.

I'll hire someone who can do the job properly and show up for work on time. I don't care what the skin colour is.

Some people are just assholes. Sometimes they just never know what sort of referrals they lost.

In my experience, any business that slanders another business only hurts themself.
Notice how the most successful business owners don't come to this website and cause shit. Grow up Paul, you're a business owner. PS: Micheal whens the last time you took a holiday that was longer than 7 business days?

TTC I'm actually going to be in Italy tuning a number of vehicles so that's technically work. Yay for being one of the few guys in the world who can reprogram Magneti Marelli ecus. I am getting a total of 8 days for myself and in the last 5 years I've never been away from the shop that long. I will ask permission if I can take some photos of the hardware but something says the answer will be "senza possibillita"

Magneti Marelli ecus.
Don't they make ECUs for diesel cars/trucks?

I think they do some diesels too. I don't have enough experience tuning diesels anyway. Here in Italy most of the cars I've seen so far are not even sold in North America so most of the stuff I'm doing over here does not apply to suff I tune in Canada. I've seen a few Toyotas, Bimmers and porsches that are the same and that's about it. Even the high end vehicles often have a completely different ECU.
The only reason I'm doing the Magneti is that I had a request for a specialized car so I disassembled the ROM and found it was very similar to some of the lotus work I've already done. Now I'm able to tune a variety of other vechicles that use the same ECU because the security access routine is very similar.

No problem. I'm in France right now but there should be someone at the shop. Since I am the only one who does the tuning it would have to be sometime next week. Give the shop a call

Ok I'm back now. I gotta say Bastille day in France makes Canada day here look like a joke.We were on the streets with 800,000 people. I don't think I've ever seen that many people in one place at one time.
