Your car, if I remember correctly, looks very nice though.
What kind of rubber are you running? 13.1@108 = lots of spinning.

Damn women. I'd say slap some drag radials on the car, and you've got mid 12's in the bag.

Ok, not lots, but some. I have seen mid-high 12's out of that trap speed, never at Luskville but that's not to say it couldn't happen.
There is a 12 in that car, just like there is a 13 in boosted's ride, it's all in the driver.

That I agree with. A 108 mph trap speed with a 2.0 60 foot time and a 13.19 ET means very little spinning. What it does mean is you can not be that aggressive off the line. If he was running slick and could launch at a higher RPM then upper or mid 12's at that trap speed would be no problem.
I ran a 13.2@110 mph at luskville with very little spinning (2.0 60 foot) but I had to take it very easy off the line. At a better prepped track a 110MPH trap would mean mid 12's since I would be able to launch harder.
Mehdi that car looks great man!

BuzzHaze, nice pics you took. Thanks for posting them. I didn't know who you were or I would have introduced myself.
Jason, thanks for the comments. I was launching at 2000 rpms to not lose the back end. Still trying to get used to the RWD, hahaha. Am I shifting to early if I was spinning too much in 2nd gear or is it because I'm to slow of the launch?
Any pointers from anyone is appreciated.

No problem. I gave you my card because I knew you would want a few shots. Anyone who isn't afraid to tortures a $70K car at the track is OK in my books!!!
I'm sure there is a launch RPM that will give you a good 60ft, maybe get a set of ET Streets on steel rims for the track. If you had slicks, you would be running much better ET's. The Vettes seem a little light in the back end considering the power they have. Weight transfer will be key in getting low ET's. Find out the power band and try to shift within it.
It will take some time and practise but I think you have all the ingredients to make some good passes. Hope to see you up again soon

Or do you disable it ?

Thanks man. I never got your card but I friend of mine said someone gave him a card for pics.
They are pretty light on the back. Everytime I hit a slight bump on the road, I lose the back end. Been chatting with other C6 owners that are running mid to high 12s and getting some pointers from them. Next time I'm gonna swing by later in the day when it's a bit cooler and dryer. :)
Will definitely come by again this year, so hopefully see you and get some pointers from you on my runs.

What do you run with the Traction control on ?
How does it feel ? Does it let the car "chirp hop"? Or it just feels sluggish off the line ?
I remembered reading an article about how the traction control enabled the best times 0-60mph in the Corvettes. Haven't bothered checking with the actual owners to see if that was true.
the ECU shuts the fucking TB down. What do you think it does?

In simple terms, you spin the tires a bit, active handling kicks in and cuts power to the wheels. I was getting 13.6~8 when I would forget to turn it off. It would kick in on the launch and the shift from 1~2 since I would spin as well.

I can imagine how many people race Vettes and beat them simply because the owner of the Vette has no idea about traction control and to shut it off if they want to launch hard. We saw a guy at Sanair once running low 14's in his C5 Vette, we told him about tractin control and to turn it off and he was then running low 13's.

I think it is meant more to keep you out of trouble in the corners rather than to allow you to launch eaier. Don't know much about it though.

They were talking about the TC making the car faster 0-60mph. I guess they can't drive or something
On my Oldsmobile LSS S/C the TC helped on the launch and it gave me just as good 1/4 mile time with less wheelspin. I usually took it off because it was more fun. It was as easy as pressing a button right beside the steering column.
However the TC didn't work in the rain or snow. The car would just spin a whole lot.

The TC comes in handy when it's wet ground for sure. When it rains, I don't dare to turn it off. Every turn if your not careful, the back end gets a bit loose.
It would be useful in the twisties as it kicks in when the Gs are getting up there. I think mine kicked in at 0.8 or so Gs.

Its for safety, just imagine one day you're stunting about trying your hardest for people to notice you, and it starts to rain, and you spin out into a wall because your traction control had been disabled.
I suggest you stop worrying about a 12sec et, You have a decent car, YOU know its fast, that should be all that matters. :)

Never really got the car to get noticed. Been a dream I made come true. I don't even notice people are looking until someone yells out something. :)
Getting into the 12s is more for being were I should be running. Once I get there, I'm satisfied. Not modifying it at all. Not worth it. I doubt I will ever go to shannonville because I would be scared to go off the track, if I do, TC will be on the entire way, lol.

I don't think it'll help much. I reduced the pressure a bit but they are flat run tires 285/35ZR19 Goodyear supercars. 19in rims don't help my runs either.
