Hey Guys,
95 Teg - PLastic headlights are old and crappy.. want to restore them..
I think I tried Mcguiars Plastix or something, on my CRX, is this the best way to clean them up? What's the best method? Just apply and buff with a buffer? Sand them? Any technique recommdendations? What have you guys done/used?

we have some 3M compound at the shop that seems to work really well with headlights that have turned yellow or old looking. Rub it on and then you buff it out type deal. As far as pricing for the bottle I don't remember off hand right now. Lots of good feedback on the product though.

i would use compound in stages... start with a good 1000 grit compound and a buffer, work up to 5000 grit compound, than some if the plasticx... did it on one of my old cars and it worked great...

It's good stuff, I did the lights on my Talon with some and they turned out like new.

wetsand with 1000 grit then c learcoat
i just used meguiars plastx on my 2000 teg. my headlights were all yellowish and hazed and it made it look brand new. i was very impressed iwth the product. just make sure you tape off around the headlights.
you dont need a buffer. just make sure you scrub well with your hands. let it sit for maybe 10 - 15 seconds after. then wipe off.

I used Eagle 7 metal polish on the headlights of a 1987 Mustang a few years back. Made them go from almost brown to brand new in a few minutes.

Good advise, I left a couple marks on my bumper when i did mine :(
ya i remember you said that when i made a post about this like 2 weeks ago. so i took your advice and made sure i tapped off. Its quite the strong product and serves its purpose very well.
