Ban Log?

Ok, so OT has a ban log. Where you can go and who who was banned, for what and for how long.

We've all seen the umpteen threads where people ask "why was ____ banned? when will the ban be lifted". save yourself the hastle, have a publicly viewable ban log.

If the bans are legit and for a fair reason, there is no shame in others knowing what/why the mods did what they did.

Danny could you not somehow just make a thread and we could keep it updated as if its locked, only the mods could edit it by adding new names and what not. That should make it easeir?

Even a ban log won't solve any problems.

Let's face it, people will still make threads trying to publicly contest the ban in effort to show up the moderators and prove to all the other Redliners how bad ass and above the law they are.

Doesn't need any programming work at all. There are many plugins for vBulletin which generate a ban list page... It's literally 5 minutes of work for you.

No there will be no ban log. Focusing discussion on people getting banned is trash. Once people get used to following the rules there shouldn't be too many bans.

care to make a gentleman's bet on that? This is RL, people will always be getting bans, and their friends/acquaintances will always be asking why.

:dunno: I thought a ban log was a good idea and it has worked well on alot of sites I frequent. your website, your call, but I'd love to say I told ya so in 6 months when people are still asking why was ___ banned and when will the ban be lifted...

this place is over runned by trolls. no offence but people arent gonna get used to the rules they never did. most of the traffic on here is shit talkers. i would ask hakish how he did it for so many years
