One yellow should be thicker than the other. Thats the power. It sounds like you don't have the yellow hooked to an ignition source.... DO NOT connect the yellows together.

"e" should be connected to a wire the comes on when your ignition is in accessory... Usually a red wire on the car but not always. As for grounds if the are both grounds either will work but for noise supression you should ground the deck to the body somewhere.

there seems to be only ONE yellow and its super thin - there is one HUGE orange - should that be connecting to the yellow on the deck?

the main problem is that its getting power but wont turn on...

I really hate trying to guess without seeing it.... The huge orange is the one on the deck or the car? You need a constant 12v which normally goes to the yellow of the deck and a switched 12v which goes to the red on the deck... Now again... I can;t be sure without seeing it. On your deck... Is there a yellow and red?

If you can post a picture of the wires on your deck and the wires in your car I can probably help

careful in those cars u can set theairbags off installing a sterio, theres a special connector you must buy far as i know or wire it direct using a wire diagram offline thats what i had to do with my 2000 cavalier

The problem is what I thought... The accessory wire is not hooked up... For some reason 2001 and up don't have an accessory wire and you have to run one from the fuse box.

ever heard of a test light?

A test light in this case would have only confused him more and he would have ended up stabbing his dash with it..... or maybe that's just me....

His car has no accessory wire so he wouldn't of found one.

01+ sunfire usually needs a class 2 databus interface... that may be your issue (interfaces generally include an ignition wire... )
