Does anyone have an AVIC head unit?

If so have you done any modding? Is it easy? From what I have read online is you load a boot file to an SD card which allows it to boot to windows instead of the AVIC interface right?

What you're referring to is getting the unit to go into 'test mode', which enables it to go directly into the Windows CE GUI.

Yeah I am on that site but it is a little confusing.... There are so many posts but not that give a definite answer. Do you have one? Have you done anything with it? I am only looking to replace the backgrounds and I assume I just replace the files in a certain folder.

I have one but never did any modding on it as all the threads i read about people modding them, they end up fucking up the unit.

Mine is always on the Map/Navigation mode, so I dont see the need for fancy graphics or backgrounds.

Yeah if it's straight forward I will do it but not really needed so if there is a chance I will screw it up I won't.

Which AVIC model do you have? I've got an F90BT and F900BT.

I just ordered the AVIC-X910BT. I think its the same as the f series for modding.

Adding backgrounds and shit is done through the pioneer GUI.. You don't need to go into test mode IIRC.

yep, read my last post and it'll show you how to do it. It's essentially the same as on the F-series AVIC units. No hacking/modding required.
