Took almost the whole summer to put the car together. Although it could have been done faster, I rather do things slowly taking my time and without cutting corners.

The car is a 1999 Ford Contour SVT. 1 of 2760 built in 1999 (total 11,445)

There are a lot of FWD haters out there, but once they watch some touring car racing, they might change their minds'. (this car is far away from being a touring car, a properly setup fwd car will be a lot of fun on a roadcourse)

It'll be no pig in a straight line either... Not that it matters that much, but hopefuly it'll be around the 12.9x - 13.1x mark.

Mod list as follows (as much as I can remember)

Drivetrain:
- 3L Duratec 24v DOHC engine (same engine found in Ford Escape's and also Noble M12's, Noble's are Forced inducted)
- Mondeo ST220 Upper Intake Manifold, Ceramic Coated
- Mondeo ST220 Lower Intake Manifold
- Custom Intake
- 65mm Ford Mustang Throttle Body
- Contour SVT Cams
- Clevite 77 Performance Bearings
- MSDS Headers
- Custom 2" Stainless Steel True Dual Exhaust w/2 Magnaflow Mufflers and High Flow Cat per bank
- 26lb Ford Mustang Injectors
- Custom Return Fuel Rail
- Quaife LSD
- Capaldi Racing Straight Cut Final Drive
- Spec Stage 3+ Clutch
- Spec Lightweight Aluminum Flywheel
- Forged and Cyrogenicaly Treated Axles from axlesforless.com
- ARP Wheel studs
- Moroso Racing Oil Accumulator w/Electronic Valve Unit
- Misc OEM Ford parts and Mods to get the SVT Cams to work with this engine (ie timing chains, tensioners etc...)
- SCT Xcal 2 for Tuning

Suspension, Chassis and Brakes
- Koni Yellow Struts
- Ground Control Coil Overs
- Custom 6pt rollbar
- Custom Subframe Connectors
- Willwood Four Piston Forged Billet SuperLight Calipers (front)
- Two piece 13" Coleman Rotors (front)
- Two piece 11.75" Coleman Rotors (rear)
- Stainless Steel Braided Brake Lines

Interior & Misc
- Battery Relocated to the trunk (Optima Red Top Sealed)
- Corbeau Forza Seats
- Corbeau 3" 5 point Harness Belts
- Sparco 333 Black Suede Steering Wheel
- Sparco Tecno Shift Knob
- Blox Racing Lightweight Aluminum Lug Nuts

Wheels

- 17"x7.5" Kosei K1-R wrapped with 225/45-17 Avon Tech-R Slicks (track)

Here are some pictures

What type of brakepads do you have?

and by curiousity, what are the spring rates?

Nope, not the same car. That used to be the kids car who bought my other black svt and than somebody from Ottawa ended up buying that silver one from him.

If I remember the spring rates are 600/400. As for brake pads I am running Hawk HPS pads for the street with coleman rotors for the street and HP+ for the track with a set of coleman rotors for these pads.

Nice! can't wait to get out and play with this new toy!

You should consider HP Blue for the track, Xav had severe brake fade with the HP+ when they were hot :ugh:

We'll see what happens, but remember I have almost twice the size of Xav's rotors, so the heat capacity is much larger.

Thanks. Must have been the one that is not an SVT. My black one didn't get to drive around on the street that much.

Yeah but I wouldn't be surprised that you'd get a good 50% or more power and mass on me...

And 400lbs of spring rate seems low for R-comps... Are you able to keep the heat up?

when will that thing see the track for the fist time?

What does your car weight?

Maxime was supposed to help with the tune, but it seems that he has a lot on his plate these days, so it seems like the car is going to Steeda after all like it was originaly planned in the next two weeks.

I might be missing out the MCO CMP day because AVB on April 1st. But we'll see, summer hasn't even started yet, lots of track days to come.

If the solo2 turns out to be calm like it used to be, I will be doing solo2 with this car with every chance I get as well.

No bolt ins for me :P haha and bolt in anything for a Contour?

It's a 6 pt rollbar fabbed up by Tag Racecraft in Oakville. You Honda boys should know that shop.

These are some of the stuff they've built in the past.

not gutted at all plus cage, bigger block, oil accumulator and such I would put it at 3200lbs. 2700for a stock 4dr golf you can shave about a 100lbs in interior trim and in the engine compartment (no more ac components, rad fan etc...) brings me at 2600ish I wasn't that far... considering I eyeballed it :)

Anyways, I was just putting it out there so that he wouldn't look like a fool like you did :rice:

Let's see

2 broken axles, 1300$ in towing fees on 2 seperate occasions
stranded in the middle of last years first track day
stoping the entire session to tow your POS out of the way
loosing everyones time
overheating brakes
half assed front end conversion
momo wheels

nop, you sir, take the cake in the fool department. :rice:

Is this car ready and out? I ask because a similar looking one was revving beside me while traveling down Merivale last night, trying to get me to race. My car is a stock econobox.

More than likely it wasn't you. I like the idea its great. I am at a slight loss (maybe I am missing something) how a 3klb car with a 3.0L V6 is going to run 12.9.
