Hey! Seems to be alot of gun/rifle owners on here so I figured it'd be fun to all meet up at a range once in a while and go for beers (After! Of course)! Or if you guys hunt small game and have a land...need someone to go with you or whatever! We could pick dates and meet up!

Im buying a 12 G in may to get ready for wild turkey! So yeah! Ill be skeet shootin pretty much all summer!

As far as trapping... in the wintertime, I always set up traps for rabbit!

I didn't mean trapping as in a snare, I meant trap shooting. Like skeet, but the pigeon goes out into a field.. At stittsvile gun range they are beside eachother..

Its 20$ I think! She doesnt need a PAL(Possesion, Acquisition Liscence). She just needs the liscence thats says she can handle guns! :P

My roommate has his license, non-restricted (rifles & shotguns) and I don't have mine and we go and shoot no problems. As long as one of the people you are with (there may be a cap) has a license, you can go and shoot.

Each round of skeet or trap is $16 plus shells, comes to about $33 with tax each round.

Yup, no membership required. You pay less with a membership, but you have to go quite a few times for it to actually pay off..

It's 7.50 for trap, and maybe skeet? and then your shells.

the range doesnt provide any guns if thats what you mean. Your friend or whomever you're going with should provide along with their license.

The law is changing on the PAL thing. If you don't have a rifle you could still join up at the RA centre as they have some well maintained high quality rifles. They are very strict at the range but it's no different than any military range I've shot at. I'd rather strict range rules than lax ones.

I went to the wild west shooting range in the west edmonton mall. Their guns were in such bad shape you'd be surprised they still shot. Of course fire a handgun 1200 times a day every day they'll fall apart... I can definitely see the value of owning your own rifle.

What do you guys know about hunting type rifles wearing out? One of the guys at the range said they're only good for 500-600 rounds before the barrel starts wearing out and stuff. I know the proper target rifles - like the anschutz are still very accurate and I've personally put several thousand rounds through one of them...

I know you want to consider re barreling a precision rifle, but that's for maximum accuracy

it wears the grooves down, at least that's my understanding

I would assume hunting rifles would be similar

but someone more experienced can chime in, or CGN

I was there around 1pm To sight my scope! I saw a guy I thought I recognized.. Prolly from a pic on here or something... Tall leb looking guy witha Goatie and glasses...? Shooting an SKS. With another white guy!? Anyways! Was out there with my buddy! Sightin was pretty easy @ 50 yards! 5 bullets till I hit bullseye... then 100 yards I had about 1/12 inch grouping around the bullseye.... 300 yards. welll... youll rarely shoot a deer from that distance.. especially not in the woods but I hit the target. My scope is 9x.... My buddy has a Tika T3 .308 with a 14x scope with reloads nand managed to make a 1 inch grouping @ 300 yards! Pretty impressive.

Then another dude showed up with an SKS and an AR50! Pretty sick weapon! ALot of SKSs today...like 8-10! :) Fun times!

Its awesome! I loved it! For 350$ tax in, cant go wrong! The bolt is in fact a little rough compared to my friends Tikka T3 .308 but then he paid around 2 grand more than mine soo.... But yeah! Awesome rifle! Awesome groupings! Overall im really happy with my buy!

Stittsville is only open to the public on weekends and I work weekends so I need to find something to play on during the week.

Picked up a new 10/22 and haven't been able to fire it yet lol.
