So going back to the story on the old board about my tint ticket...

I decided today that there was no point in arguing a matter of opinion. It would just be my word vs. the cops. I went down to constellation and switch my plea to "guilty with explanation". I waited about 5min then met with the JP.

JP "So you are pleading guilty w/ exp. Whats the explanation?"

I explained that I was going to fight it but there was no point because how do I argue opinion vs. opinion. I told him it was unreasonable that I be expected to fix it in the allowed time period due to blah blah blah.

JP "Was the tint REALLY dark?"

"No, but not super light either. I could see through fine, apparently she disagreed."

JP "What kind of car was it?"

"Acura RSX"

JP "But that is newer right?"

"2002."

"These tickets are stupid. The law isnt clear and you are right, its a matter of opinion. I hate these tickets. Im suspending it and you dont have to pay anything, nor will you hear about it again."

I thanked him and he went on again about how stupid these tickets are.

So for all of you ballin gangster wannabes out there with your "Dont you work?" "Just pay it!" "You deserved it!", our justice system disagrees.

Id say 10 min of my time on the way to work was well worth the $110 I saved.

Most of the JPs are down to earth. Good to see it worked out in your favour.

Im suspending ...

What does that mean? Does that mean it's dismissed? Gone?

Usually "suspending" means "until a later date"

JP cant remove or change a charge. This ticket is still on my record, but it amounts to nothing since it is zero points, zero dollars.

how can it be on your "record" if you were never found guilty and the ticket was suspended?

I know that. I didnt say points were removed. It simply saved me $110.

You didn't have to even pay the victim surcharge?
