Why would they? It has nothing to do with how the car is designed, it's the driver. Why is it that much more often than not, the people driving those cars are generally young people who've either modified the car even further, or drive like assholes.

I agree it's BS that alot of good drivers who happen to have tastefully modified vehicles get shit on, but like I said there aint much you can do about it.

i dont think government want to punish cars and car manufacturers. they are goin after the PEOPLE driving them. Anyone can own a fast car, its your choice as to how you want to drive it.

i dont think government want to punish cars and car manufacturers. they are goin after the PEOPLE driving them. Anyone can own a fast car, its your choice as to how you want to drive it.

An article had stated that any car that was tuned for street racing could be seized. Hence his reasoning for bringing that out.

I agree 100%. The public and Govt. need to focus on stricter 1st time punishments for drinkin and driving. If you get a 24hr suspension due to a drinking related incident they should crush your car. What is suppose to fair to one is good for the other.

Come on people get your head out of your ass's what really kills more people a year in automotive related incidents Street racing,Old People or Drunk drivers?

Street racing is an issue cuz the government/police are hyping every single case that they find that involves street racing (or what they believe is street racing). The issue that I see is that lots of police arn't educated at all as to what they should be looking for (I still remember the Gatineau cop that said that I was driving a race car on the street cuz it had a Monster Tach & aftermarket gauges, she had nothing else to base her theory off of, she gave me a ticket & I took it to the cop shop & got it reversed)
Educate the police as to what to look for & spend more time getting drunk drivers & hardcore criminals off of the streets instead, this is much more of an issue.

If you don't want to be bothered by cops don't run around with your POS car with a loud exhaust, racing stickers, neon lights, ALTEZZAAAAASSSS, loud soundsystem, etc... basically some people "modify" their car to attract attention and maybe try to pick up some chicks but really all they are doing is saying "Hey, look at me, im driving a 3000$ car with 6000$ of accessories LOOK LOOK LOOK AT ME!!! Your just getting attention, especially the cops.

I drive a car with 5% tint and no front license plate when I should and Ive never ever been stopped for those kind of things... If I was driving one of those riced out POS cars many of you on this board drive I wouldnt last 5 minutes before being pulled over. Why dont I get bothered you ask? Because I chose to drive something that is low key and doesnt attract attention BUT yet it probably can smoke many of the cars on the board.

cops should focus more on drunk drivers. They are the ones who cause way more accidents. Their cars should be impounded/crushed.

Also that statement, "if your going 50km+, you will be called a street racer" is total BS.

Educate the cops! Just because the car is modified doesnt mean the driver is a street racer.


a lilttle off topic but lots of cops drive like asses too. I'v seen cops use the OC transpo lane just to get out of traffic on the highway and then merge back in when traffic dies. I've see them turn on their lights to so they dont have to stop at a red light and then continue driving normally...thats BS, cops should be abusing their "privellages"

Our gov, should stop wasting money on these things. They should be putting it towards keeping the DRUNKS, MURDERERS, AND SUCH off the streets.

but you know what before the last movie of the fast and the furious. people sped the way they did, and had crashed, got killed or seriously injured. they were never claimed street racers.. hell, most of these incidents were of just pure bad driving at highway speeds.. the case now seems to be "omg a crash. 100+km/h.. he had to have been racing someone". people follow each other on the highway at highspeeds all the time, it doesnt mean they are racing each other.

in my opinion, if the driver is caught racing then the driver should be penalized him with his car.

but if a car is modified. which to some people (is their life, their image, who they are) should not be seized or crushed because it could be used for racing.. if anyone actually did any reasearch. how many of these cars are acutally modified made for racing.. i dont have any stats but from the news alone i can say not very many! most of the street racing and those accidents are kids driving "mom's and dad's" ride loaded with kids on the way to the mall, who get the urge to show off in front of their friends.

i dunno. the drivers should be the one to blame, not the cars
