i thought private property was off limits to police interference as long as owners don't mind and you aren't being total ass-hats. Regardless they'd be hard pressed to find something wrong with cars sitting still for the long exposure shots needed to see at 8pm.

True to an extent...If they feel you're causing excessive noise or it may be harmful to the public they will tell you you leave. I don't have a car worth shooting for shit, but I might come by and see what's happening.
