Site is a bit flakey since it's being dugg like a mofo.

I know Taylor was looking into doing one a while back, and I was going to do one with a MacMini. The real life kicked in.

if you have a newer mac mini you can run windows on it. Theres soo much available for windows. I learned lots from mp3car.com what really sucks is the start up time of the pc, and the fact that I dont have a shut down controller. I think spawn on here has one as well.

I'm going to pull mine from my car in August and redo it, installing the main OS on a 1GB fast CF card and the rest on a 8GB thumbdrive. Good info, I'd rather run linux, easier to manipulate yet not as much available.

Hell yes I have one! Chris, stop screwing around with the CF idea, given the limited life span based on write/re-write capcity, it's not worth it. If you want to solve the startup time, get a 12V dc-dc power supply for the computer with a built in shutdown controller, and enable standby on the mobo. When you turn the key off, the power supply puts the pc into standby. I've had it running on standby for over a week without starting it and no noticable drain on the battery. Best thing is that as soon as you start the car, 3 seconds later you have full operation on the computer. Currently I am having mobo issues and my standby is screwing up, but it's an easy fix.
