IIRC you're an Alpine dealer.

I'm looking for a double din headunit, I know there's the IVA-W205.. Are there any others? I'm don't necessarily need something that's crazy advanced (If you're stocking last years models etc.. that's cool).

What do you have available? I'd like to stay away from a flip out style as they seem a little fragile, but I guess if the price is right I'd consider one.

hit me :D

doesn't look like alpine makes any other double din head units... maybe a single din with a plate?

Yeah, that's always and option, I find it looks cheesy and I would think that the interface on a double din would be much more user friendly and intuitive (given it's twice the size), I guess that's what attracts me to them.

If nothing is available I may look at a Pioneer AVIC-D3, it seems nice.

I only have a single din alpine, and I have to say, it is very well set up, and easy to control (although a larger screen would be nice)

you may have to look into something like this (maybe you can ge one that looks better)

either way I'd have to shrink a double din to a single if I went that route.. IIRC most GM's share the generic kit.

I know what you meen about the Alpine snowstang, I've had a few (single din's) over the years and they've always impressed me. I'd like to stick with a brand I trust.

In addition the factory cassette (woohoo) player is mounted remotely.. I don't really want to leave it there, but then again I'm not sure what i'd fill the hole with.. I think I have a pic of the dash.. i'll dig it up.

talk to GM about removing the other deck/peice. I know ford had a pocket I could install in it's place, It's very useful and looks stock. 8)

I highly recommend the Pioneer AVIC-D3. I recently installed one in my car and absolutely love it! So clean and simple, yet very powerful. Also you simply can't beat its navigation (well you can with the AVIC-Z1, which is the same unit, only with a built in HDD to store the maps instead of using the DVD Navigation Discs - but for $400 more, I'd rather use the DVD's and spend the money on something else).

here's another link to the AVIC-D3:

:p noted.

The AVIC-D3 would be my second choice, but I really have little interest in Nav, also I've had such good luck with Alpine in the past (functionality and quality) I'd like to stick with them.
