Hey guys,

First I will introduce myself, I am conducting market research on a new car cleaning product. I have been tasked with conducting online surveys to gain the opinions of the potential target market. The product claims to do a lot, and even though we have several 'experts' claiming the same, I always know the best feedback is from industry forums. I have had great success from previous forum posts where I learn a lot about the industry and the products themselves.
Enough marketing talk, I am really here to find out whether this product has any validity to it.

I got a bottle of the product and I am not experienced in cleaning my car (to be honest I wash it once every 2 months with soap - so please don't judge :) ). Luckily the product seems to be a spray and wipe, so I got several micro fiber cloths, and hopefully that will get the job done

I will post pictures of my own use on the product and would like your feedback. I have also been given a promotional code for orders, since it is against forum rules I won't be posting it on the forum, but if you are interested in further helping please send me a pm.

This is my maxima, it has 350k on the body so don't be harsh. I just used it on the passenger door and the backside of the car.
Pictures here,

The goals of this product is that:
- It will clean your cars exterior
- Leave a protective low energy surface energy that will resist dust, dirt, and grime for up 2 months (depending where you drive, average is 1month) It says that all I have to do is take a dry micro-fiber cloth and wipe it down each day. It should remove everything and leave a similar shine as the first time I cleaned it.
- The shine after should rival that of professional waxing or polishing.

The results:
- Seems to have cleaned the surface to me.
- Will be testing over the next month.
- Need your input.

Your feedback on the results would be appreciated, let me know anything you guys require!

p.s. I most likely will post on several forums, so you might see me in different places.
Also, I don't want to break any forum rules, so if this post is breaking any rules let me know and I will edit it.

Thanks

I'm guessing this is one of those rinsless/soapless car wash products.

Long term affects of these products on a vehicles paint are not good. One of my customers gets his car done by a company that uses these products and then he brings me his car once a year to fix all the swirls in the paint. I've told him to stop using them but he likes the convenience they offer - he can park his car at work, and these guys come and 'clean' his car in the parking lot while he's at the office, I guess Toronto has a lot of these guys doing this type of 'detailing'. I wouldn't let these guys touch my car at all.

You need soap and water to properly wash a car, especially here in Ontario where our roads are covered in sand and salt in the winter months. Try washing a salt covered car with these products in the winter, you will destroy your paint in no time. You need soap to clean dirt and soap also acts as a lubricant between your paint & the wash mitt/sponge you are using to minimize swirl marks. You need water to properly rinse the soap that's captured the debris away form your paint. These products are great if you live in somewhere where the weather is always great, or garage queens that needs a light dusting once in a while, but I wouldn't put those products anywhere near any daily driver of mine. These products will not remove bug guts, road tar, road paint, fallout, etc form your car's paint. A good detailer with a proven process will though. This stuff will just rub the debris into your paint.

This is what you should do with your research. 1st of all you need better pictures, you need a better process to capture the products affects.

Buy yourself some halogen work lights on a tripod. Take a picture of the same area each day you go out and wipe the dust and other debris off your car with a micro fiber towel. As the direction say.

After you've completed that wipe down, take a picture of the paint with the halogen work lights on shining against the paint. You want your picture to capture the light reflection, this will show the defects in the paint. Each day those defects will get worse from you wiping away the dust and other debris. After the 2 months, and before you need to reapply your product (as the directions mention), your paint should look like this:

(that's actually my customer cars from Toronto that see's this service on a weekly basis)

here's a picture of the correction I offer on 1 side vs a non corrected side. this will give you an idea of what to capture in your pictures.

- The shine after should rival that of professional waxing or polishing.

It won't. PM me when you want your paint fixed.
