small turbo on a 1.8L

specifically a b18a.

im not really up to snuff on compressor flow maps turbo A/R's brands and stuff, im mainly an electronics guy.

My question is- what is the smallest turbo anyone has put on a 1.8L motor, im talkin for a spool (approx.6-8psi) around 1200rpm, and its ok if its useless over 3000rpm.

just lookin for instant pedal pep, nothing crazy, its for a daily driver

what turbo should i be looking at?

KKK off the 1.8T VW motors, perfect for what your looking for. turboteggy ran one of these back in the day, the car was fucking supercharged it spooled so fast.

VEry very small turbos get old fast ....... But with a t25 the t28 bolts up and theirs all kinds of bolt on oemish upgrades.

the whole reason for this is cause i was at 16psi on my T3 .42/.48 in my teg, got use to breaking the tires loose in 3rd, then smashed the car, so now its being fixed and my daily driver sucks, i need a little bit of boost for winter.

If you're really serious about the no guts past 3000 then a kkk turbo of a VW would be perfect.

A little IHI from a Probe/Mazda 2.2 would also spool really fast.

T25 from a DSM, same thing.

The kkk ko3 off the 1.8t made 180 hp and 190tq @the wheels with stock b18b on turboteggy's car @3000 rpm @10psi and fell flat on it's face at 5 grand....When I boost the Tracker, that will be my turbo of choice for that exact reason.

I loved driving that car... so did everyone else.

Hackish is the Talon turbo you have about the same size as a 1.8 VW turbo? I mean, really how small is this thing. I always wondered if it would be suitable for a 1.8L, considering it's on a 2.0L engine stock. Would it be better suited for d series?

Brett bought the turbo off of me but it's still at the shop. Talk to him if you want to buy it from him. Yes it would be well suited for a D series.
