How complicated would it be to just swap an EVO engine in there compared to doing a full build?

1 guy has done it in Montreal and the total cost came up to about 10g. And it's not awd.
So that gives you an idea.

Though, I do beleive the shop who took the job may have taken the wrong approach.

The 4g94 has just as much potential has any Honda D serie engine out there. You won't shell out an @ss load of power unless you shell out an @ss load of cash, unless you custom build yourself most of the stuff. Road Race offers a bunch of products for the 4g94 but they are way overpriced, and they aren't local either. So you'll get hit by border fees everytime you buy some of their products.

If you're willing to put time and effort in your ride, you could achieve great goals.
That platform handles the twisties very well.

If you need a hand with your ride, remember Ralliart and I have spent countless hours on those cars. I did on the 4g94, he did on the later engine(sry can't remember the engine code right now)

We took Brent's turbo car for a drive and started tuning it last night. That 2.4l is a real stump puller of an engine - comes on boost at about 2400 rpm and pulls pretty well. Reminds me of a boosted H22.
