this morning on my way to work just noticed my fan settings 1-3 are not working any more... but 4 works fine....
is this an easy fix? or do i have to go to the junker and find a replacement

btw its a 97 pathfinder

same thing happened in my bmw, 1, 2 ,3 no worky, 4 worked fine. Replaced the relay ($17 part) and Im as good as new.

My parents had the same thing in their cavalier. Like Flofocus said, just a relay, and it was a cheap and easy fix through the dealership.

actually on the Cav it would be a resistor not a relay. i can't speak for other brands, but in most cases when lower speeds no longer work it is the blower motor resistor. i've also seen fuses & switches.

Common issue in a lot of cars and trucks, there is a resistor or relay that controls all the low settings which fails. Usually it's located under the glove box somewhere.

Your right :oops: it was a resistor. I blame the french in me. :D

only for few more days. Then the sexay coupe wheels will be on there, and your material will be all dried up.

Just an FYI, yours is in the same spot as mine is IIRC look in the passenger footwell bolted to the outside wall under the dash, also Nissan changed the design of them so the part you buy won't look the same as the part it's replacing so don't get freaked out it will work.

and yes it's a resistor on the pathfinders I just checked mine.
