I decided to paint mine flat black to keep my engine bay the same colour. I still have a bit of left over glue from the masking tape to clean up, overall Im pretty happy with the results. Thought I would share and see what you guys think. **sorry for bad quality pic**

Just some plastic paint, we will see how long it will hold up.

It looks very good, you could always powdercoat it, I didnt do anything to my valve cover but I thought of doing something similar or leaving it stock. My plug cover does get a little hot but I dont think as hot as my valve covers so I hope the paint toughs it out, we will see in the summer.

I just didnt want to keep the Toyota vvti colour ?!?

yours looks good and clean. on honda teck there it like a 230pg thread of different valve covers with some really cool designs (like paper mache calculus on the vc)

i was in a rush because i was swapping in the engine and didnt have an extra one

You should pull all the letter/numbers off and get Mike to machine you new ones in the same font that say

"Fuck VTEC"

That would be so awesome.

"NON-VTEC, bitch" would be sweet too.

Andre, I must disagree, and to be honest I think you have a bad attitude.

looks very good!

just an idea: it probably would've been easier to just paint everything (including the letters) and just sand off the paint afterwards... no? or you could've put grease on the top of the letters and whippe it off after the paint dried....

taping looks like it was time consuming....

look good none of the less...

This is my plug cover or known to Toyota as the #3timing cover, it is made of plastic. It was time consuming but worth it. I watched a movie Sicko with the girl while I taped everything and I was done all before the end of the movie. I was originally going to paint the letters with a gloss black but I like it the way it is. I also could of just painted everything and afterwards painted the lettering. I think I've spend enough time on it, afterall its just a cover. The vvt-i teal was just ugly.

My valve covers are not painted.
