View Full Version : BOV placement: close or far from the TB?
Hey everyone. I'm almost ready to slap my turbo stuff on (fmu & missing link not included) my car and I just had a question. What differences are there depending on where you place the blow off valve? Does it sound different, is there better throttle response with it closer to the throttle body? I just want to hear random opinions and possibly have my thread taken over. Good day people.

you want it no more then a foot away form the TB cause the pressure will first start building up against the throttle body....
So a foot or LESS frm the TB is cool? What if I mounted it a few inches from the TB, is that ok?
Putting the BOV a few inches from the TB shouldn't be a big problem. Anywhere on the pipe that goes up to the TB is usually good. I normally try to aim for something most serviceable. The biggest effect on the sound short of BOV choice is what angle it's facing.

The closer you mount the bov to the turbo the louder it will be. The further away from the TB the less respone you will have.

End of the day, doesn't really matter. You can mount it on the intercooler endtanks if you want, as long as it's there it's gonna do its job.
Thanks for the responses. Frig Brett 4am! I hope it goes better on Sunday for throwing the y1 in. Thanks again buddy.
