hey everyone i was just wondering i dont know the specs to my engine. i just bought my 1994 civic si with a b18b swap. everywhere ive looked it says 142 horsespower at 6300 rpm with 127 lbs of torque at 5200 rpm so i was wondering if that is correct. it is quick though so yeah. just checking. and any pros and cons of the engine?
thanks guys
Sounds about right. Pros: B18's last forever, rev the fuck out of it. Cons: Your a ricer, and also a poser. All IMO, but it's for real. yo.

Dont give him a hard time jdc420, You are a ricer to me, that's not "IMO", that is a fact. He is young, learing and has questions (which he should just stop by and ask me next time). If more people were helpful and positive there would be less rice and poor decisions made by the younger ones. Idiot.
Your engine can be a lot of fun. They do produce somewhere around 140-150hp. Officially it's 142bhp for a B18B1 and I don't remember the JDM version of that engine being any different. They do have a reasonable amount of torque so they make that a fun car to drive. They're also low compression at 9.2:1 so that means if it hasn't been tuned for high octane then you can run regular gas in her all day long and get the same amount or more power than premium and better fuel economy. In the future you could also get a b16 head and turn it into an LS-Vtec for about 25bhp more.

I am an idiot and a ricer. I have never denied it. Your post didn't help him much at all though, now did it? Nice.

Get some b16b pistons on ebay
intake manif + larger TB
headers and full exhaust
new clutch + lightweight flywheel
drop it likes it hot
good tires, good brakes
sway bar all around
you'll be surprised... after all, for me, its not about making the biggest power.. its about the feeling of driving a good car!
