Hey guys;
I got a code from my Sentra ('04 Spec-v) that the evaporator cannister vent control valve is stuck.
Recently, the mud-guard/weather guard around that area (near the fuel pump) came loose and a bunch of slush got up in there. I tried my best to clear out what I could before I reattached it.
My question is, since I have no idea what an evaporator cannister vent control valve is, is this a big worry?

Lol, apparently it is a problem.. I went to fill up and released a whole lot of pressure when I opened the gas cap. Also.. for some reason I could barely get any gas to go into the tank. It took me over ten minutes to fill half the tank, because the nozzle kept clicking off.

Do you have easy access to the valve? Maybe a quick clean and reinstall.
Benny like I was saying today, I don't know for certain how that system works, but on the Caprice that valve was vacuum actuated and located on the canister, in the engine bay.
Your vavle is likely solenoid activated, and controlled as a function of the ECU during light load part throttle and idle situations. BUT, that is a total guess - maybe if we take a look at the vac diagram sticker under the hood, it would shed some light as to what the system is made up of and where all the bits be at.
I guess what I'm getting at is it might be a quick under-the-hood fix. While in da hood.

Done and done. . it was full of ice (likely from slush making its way in ).. I sat under the car for about half an hour with a hair dryer, and it seems to clear what I couldn't scrape out.

Have the same problem on the accent also. Mine is called a 'roll-over' valve. It allows fuel vapor / built-up air pressure to travel from the fuel tank to the charcoal canister rather than letting it build up in the tank, and releasing when you go to get gas =) Replacing the valve in the accent sucks, requires dropping the fuel tank.
