Just wondering how much labour would be on replacing a head gasket on a 00 SiR...im pretty sure the gasket is like 60 bucks or something like that
Thanks.
It's probably about 3h of labour. Don't use the cheap aftermarket gaskets. Use either a brand name honda or a cometic. Also make sure the head is checked for straightness.

typically how much does it cost when its all said and done ? And where would be the best place to get this done...stealership?
You might want to consider putting new head bolts/studs in too.

sorry never got my HG done in a shop before. Call the vendors and see what they offer.
Usually it's around $350 to $400 by the time you leave. Many times if the timing belt isn't new I recommend changing it plus the oil seals. If it's a high miler you could even have the water pump changed at the same time. Head gaskets don't usually just "go" for no reason so if there is an underlying cause it's important to figure that out.

no i don't think its shot or anything but i noticed a bit of oil leakage around that area although im not 100% sure what the cause of it is...it may be because of some spilt oil when topping up... haven't really got a chance to take a good look at it cause its been so freakin cold out lately. But i haven't noticed any change in the cars performance or acting up.
